What’s new

Everything we’ve shipped, newest first. Big days get a plain-words summary below. The tables after that list every change by area, one merged pull request per row; select the number to see exactly what changed.

A big day: about 80 changes. In plain words, grouped by what you do.

Website builder

• Click any text to edit it, in every section, not only a few. Select words for Bold, Italic, Underline and Link.
• One bar above each block with move up and down, duplicate, remove, hide and copy.
• Section settings are easier: width and alignment as buttons, spacing for each screen with − and + and quick sizes, colour swatches, a background colour or picture, corners, border, shadow, show or hide on phone or computer, and an entrance animation you can preview. Almost every section has them now, including the hero, header and footer.
• Pick a style when you add a section, such as a hero as a slideshow, centred, split or with a video. Pictures in the Add panel show what each section looks like.
• 20 new sections: heroes, logo cloud, stat cards, calls to action, feature cards, how it works, testimonials, FAQ, comparison table, plans, lookbook, email signup band, timeline, team and trust badges.
• New side panels: Pages, Media (click or drag a picture onto a block) and Audit, which finds pictures with no description, buttons with no link and hard-to-read colours. A path at the top of the settings shows where you are.
• Zoom from 25 % to 200 %. Phone, tablet and computer previews now use the real screen width.
• Templates: blogs and blog posts can use different layouts; each layout shows how many items use it and can be renamed, duplicated or deleted.
• Use content from…: fill a list of rows (questions, quotes, team) from your content types or a collection’s products.
• Version history: every time a theme goes live, a version is kept. Preview or Restore one. The Themes page shows a picture of each theme and who saved it last.
• Shopify theme import now brings product, collection and page templates, not only the home page. If you imported a theme earlier, import it again to get them.

Stock and purchasing

• A new Stock menu: Inventory, Purchase orders, Inbound shipments, Suppliers and Transfers. See Stock.
• Suppliers, with their currency and GSTIN.
• Purchase orders in any currency, with an exchange rate, and charges such as freight, customs (BCD, SWS, IGST) and clearing agent fees, split by weight or value.
• Landed cost: the real cost of each product, with a weighted average on every receipt, and late bills that update the cost of what is still on the shelf.
• Receive with accept and reject, cancel and reopen.
• Upload a bill and let Koomerce read it, then check and apply.
• Print, download or email a purchase order to the supplier.
• Bulk edit: change prices, stock, tags and more for many products in a spreadsheet. See Products and collections.

Several warehouses and GST

• Send online orders from more than one warehouse, in the order you choose.
• A big order can split into parcels, each billed by its own warehouse’s GST number, with one tax invoice per parcel and credit notes per GST number.
• Shoppers see Ships in 2 parcels at checkout, on the thank-you page and in the email.
• Orders show Ships from, and Needs stock moved when a part must wait for a transfer. See Several warehouses and GST.

Profit

• Every order has a Profit card: sales without GST, minus the cost of goods, courier, payment fees and returns.
• Settings → Costs for profit, and Profit by month and Profit by product reports. See Profit.

Shipping

• Shipments has tabs (To book, Booked, In transit, Delivered, Returned), Book selected, a Pickups panel, a delivery-problems panel and your Shiprocket wallet at a glance. See Shipments.
• Abandoned checkouts has its own page for each cart, with Send reminder and Copy cart link. See Orders.

Growth and analytics

• Links: short links like yourstore.in/l/diwali that count clicks, orders and sales.
• Growth overview says what your marketing earned: campaigns, automations, discounts and links. See Growth.
• Live view shows how many people are on your store right now, with a pause button.
• Umami: visitor analytics without cookies, with a Visitors section on Analytics. See Analytics and Visitor analytics (Umami).

Admin polish

• A new look across the admin: new sidebar and top bar, Home, Orders, Products, Customers, Content, Analytics, Growth, Apps, Settings and the login page. Light and dark.
• Discounts: Pause, Resume and Duplicate.
• Files: how much space you use, a Documents tab and a list of your largest files. See Files and storage.
• Apps: a Recommended for your store strip. See Apps.
• Hindi for more screens, including Umami and the purchase order form.

Highlights from late September

• Shipments workspace with Delhivery and Shiprocket: compare rates, print labels, schedule pickups, handle delivery problems (Shipments).
• Theme editor: per-section Layout, Spacing, Style and Advanced settings, app blocks, and a new editor shell (Online store).
• Data protection: encrypted credentials and customer phone numbers, encrypted backups, key rotation (Security).
• Apps split into Built-in apps and Connections, with local disk as the default storage (Apps).
