Costs for profit
These feed the Profit report and the Profit card on each order.
Actual fees come first
Razorpay and Cashfree tell us what they kept from each payment. That actual fee is what profit uses. Razorpay usually sends it with the payment; Cashfree sends it a little later, once it has worked out its charges. Until the fee arrives, profit uses the rates on this page, and the order’s Profit card says Estimated. When it arrives, the card says Actual.
So these rates matter most for brand-new orders, and for gateways that never report a fee.
Fees by how the customer paid
Gateways charge different rates for UPI, debit cards, credit cards, international cards and so on, so you set a rate for each:
| Way of paying | Filled in with |
|---|---|
| UPI | 2% |
| RuPay debit cards | 2% |
| Other debit cards | 2% |
| Credit cards | 2% |
| International cards | 3% |
| Corporate, Amex and Diners cards | 2.15% |
| Net banking | 2% |
| Wallets | 2% |
| EMI | 2% |
| Pay later | 2% |
These are Razorpay’s standard rates (razorpay.com/pricing, checked 11 October 2026: 2% on every domestic way of paying, 2.15% on corporate and business cards, up to 3% on international cards). They are only a starting point: check your own plan, your rates may be lower. Type each rate before GST, the way gateways quote them. Use standard rates puts them back.
This section shows when Razorpay or Cashfree is switched on.
Fees by gateway
One rate per gateway. It is used when the gateway did not say how the customer paid, and for gateways like Decentro that use one rate for everything.
Cash on delivery
What your courier keeps for collecting cash from the customer, before GST. It shows when cash on delivery is switched on.
GST on fees
Gateways and couriers add 18% GST to their fees.
- If you have a GST registration (not composition), you claim that GST back, so profit leaves it out, the same way it leaves GST out of your sales.
- If you do not, the GST is a real cost, so profit adds 18% to each rate.
The page tells you which one applies to your store.
Cashfree: turn on the fee update
Cashfree sends its fee in a separate update. In the Cashfree Merchant Dashboard’s webhook settings, subscribe the same address as your payment updates to Success Payment TDR. Without it the fee still arrives, just later: we ask Cashfree for it every 30 minutes until it is known.
Try it
- Open Settings → Costs for profit.
- Compare the rates with your Razorpay or Cashfree plan and change any that differ. Leave a rate empty if you never take that way of paying.
- Select Save.
- Open a recent order paid online. The Profit card shows Payment fees · Actual when the gateway reported the fee, or Estimated while it uses these rates.
