Search keywords
Where to find it: open a product, then the SEO tab, Search keywords card. What to do: pick the 5 to 10 searches shoppers in India would type to find this product, and mark the best one as primary. What you’ll see: your keywords, primary first with a star.
Search keywords steer Write with AI. They are never shown on your store.
We do not add a “meta keywords” tag to your pages. Google and Bing have ignored that tag for years, so it would do nothing. Keywords help by shaping the search title and description that Google shows, and that is what we use them for.
Let AI suggest keywords
- On the Search keywords card, click Suggest keywords.
- In a few seconds you see 5 to 10 searches, each tagged:
- Buy: someone ready to purchase (“wireless mouse price”, “gaming mouse under 2000”)
- Compare: someone weighing options (“best mouse for laptop”)
- Info: someone looking something up (“how to clean a mouse”)
- The star marks the AI’s pick for primary. Where it fits, it also suggests the Hindi or Hinglish way people search (“wireless mouse sasta”).
- Untick any you do not want and click Use. Then Save the product.
The AI reads the product’s name, brand, type, category, description and price. If your store is connected to Google Search Console, it also reads the real searches that already brought visitors to this product, and marks those Already searched. Without Search Console it suggests from the product alone.
Each suggestion uses 1 AI request from your monthly allowance (Settings → AI). It runs only when Write with AI is on in Settings → AI and your role can edit products.
Add, remove and pick the primary yourself
- Add your own: type a search and press Enter (up to 10 keywords).
- Primary: click the star next to a keyword. The search title is built on the primary one.
- Remove: click the cross.
Nothing changes until you click Save.
How Write with AI uses them
With keywords chosen, Write with AI (on one product, on many from the products list, or from Online store → SEO → Fix with AI):
- puts the primary keyword naturally in the search title, keeping it within about 60 characters;
- uses it once in the search description, within 160 characters;
- uses the others only where they read naturally, never repeated or stuffed.
The review shows whether the suggested search title and description use your primary keyword. You still choose what to apply, and an applied bulk run can be undone in Settings → AI → Activity.
Many products at once
On Products, tick products, click Write with AI and tick Suggest search keywords. New keywords are added to the ones a product already has; a product with none takes the AI’s primary pick. If you also tick Search title and description, those are written around the keywords in the same run. Each product then costs 2 AI requests: one for keywords, one for the writing.
SEO report
Online store → SEO lists products with no search keywords chosen as a low-impact issue. Under Fix with AI, click Suggest search keywords to suggest them for all of those products in one run, then review and apply.
