Reviews
The Reviews app shows what customers say about your products, right on the product page, with stars, photos and your replies. It replaces Judge.me when you move from Shopify.
What this is for
- Shoppers trust a product with real reviews from real buyers. Each review from someone who bought the product gets a Verified buyer badge.
- You stay in control: you choose which reviews go live straight away and which wait for you.
- Customers are asked for a review by email a few days after their order arrives, so reviews keep coming without you chasing anyone.
- Your old Judge.me reviews come over with their stars, dates, photos and your replies.
Turn it on
- Go to Apps, find Reviews under Built-in apps and click Install.
- Reviews now shows in the sidebar under Apps.
- Your product pages show the reviews section (with Write a review) wherever your theme has the Product reviews section.
The Reviews page
Apps → Reviews lists every review, newest first.
- The four boxes at the top: your average rating, how many reviews are published, how many are waiting for you, and how many have photos.
- The tabs: All, Waiting, Published, Hidden.
- Search by product, customer or words in the review. Filter by stars, product, or reviews with photos.
- Tick several reviews to Approve, Hide or Delete them together.
Click a review to open it. There you can:
- Approve and publish it, or Hide it.
- Reply. Your reply shows under the review on your store, and the customer gets an email the first time you reply. If AI is on for your store (Settings → AI), Write with AI suggests a reply you can change before posting.
- Switch Show on product page on or off.
- Switch Feature on homepage on: featured reviews come first in your theme’s reviews showcase.
- Delete review removes it for good.
The Activity box shows what happened: the request email, when it was written, whether it was held for you and why, and when it was published or answered.

Asking for reviews
The emails go out by themselves once an order is delivered (by the courier’s tracking, or when you mark it delivered). Every email has a Stop review emails link; customers who used it, or who unsubscribed from your marketing emails, are never asked again.
Just switched from Shopify? Click Ask for reviews on the Reviews page: everyone whose order was delivered in the last 60 days and was never asked gets one email within minutes.
Bring your reviews over from Judge.me
- In your Shopify admin, open Judge.me → Settings → Data export → Export reviews, choose Product reviews and download the CSV file Judge.me emails you.
- In Apps → Reviews, click Import from Judge.me and choose that file.
- Check the numbers: Ready to import, No matching product and Photos to copy. Each review is matched to your product by its SKU, then by its product handle (the Shopify importer keeps handles, so imported products match).
- Choose whether to copy photos and publish the reviews straight away, then click Import.
Photos are copied into your Files in the background, with location data removed. It is safe to import again later: reviews already imported are skipped.
Imported Shopify themes
If your store uses an imported Shopify theme, its review parts work with this app once it is installed: the stars on product cards, the Reviews showcase and Review stack sections, and the comparison table’s rating row all show your reviews.
Good to know
- A review needs a product here. Reviews for products you have not brought over are left out of a Judge.me import; bring the product over, then import again.
- Average ratings and counts update straight away when you approve, hide, delete or import.
- When a customer asks for their data to be deleted, their reviews stay as text from “A customer”, without their name or email.
