Admin language
You can use this admin in English or हिंदी (Hindi). The Hindi is everyday Hindi, the way shop owners talk, and keeps the English words people actually use: order, COD, GST, SKU, UPI, pincode.
What this is for
- Running your shop in the language you are most comfortable reading.
- Letting a family member or staff member use the admin in Hindi while you keep English. The choice belongs to each person on their own browser, not to the whole store.
How to switch
- Open the account menu (your photo or initials, top right) and choose Account.
- Open Language & region on the left. Under Admin language, pick English or हिंदी (Hindi).
- The page switches straight away. Every page you open next is in that language.
You can also type “language” or “भाषा” in the settings search. When you are creating a new store, the language switch is in the top right corner of the setup screens.
What changes and what does not
| Changes | Does not change |
|---|---|
| Menus, buttons, headings and messages in the admin | Your storefront (what customers see) |
| Dates, like “12 सितंबर 2026” and “आज, 4:05 pm” | Order emails and WhatsApp messages to customers |
| Big amounts, like “₹1.2 लाख” | Product names, descriptions and anything you typed yourself |
Amounts keep the Indian way of writing numbers in both languages: ₹1,23,456.
Which pages are in Hindi today
Store setup, Home, Orders, Products, Content → Content types, Settings → Custom data, Settings → Payments and Settings → Shipping are in Hindi, along with the menu on the left and the settings list. Other pages still show English for now and switch over as they are translated. Nothing breaks on those pages: any text that has no Hindi yet simply shows in English.
Good to know
- The choice is saved in your browser for a year. On a new browser or computer, pick it again.
- On the same page you can show times as 24-hour (16:05) instead of 4:05 pm, and start the week on Sunday instead of Monday.
- Signing out does not reset it.
