Pixels

Pixels is a built-in app, free on every plan. Install it from the App store. Its pages are Pixels and Event log.

Browsers and ad blockers stop many Meta pixel events, so Meta misses sales and your ads learn less. Pixels sends each event twice: from the shopper’s browser (the Meta pixel) and from our server (Meta’s Conversions API). Both copies carry the same event ID, so Meta counts the event once.

If you had a Meta pixel ID in Online Store → Preferences, it was moved here for you as a browser-only pixel. Nothing changes for shoppers until you add a token.

Add a pixel

  1. In Meta Events Manager, open Data sources, pick your pixel and copy its ID.
  2. On the same pixel, open Settings → Conversions API → Generate access token and copy the token.
  3. In Koomerce, open Apps → Pixels → Add pixel, paste both and save. We check the token with Meta and show the pixel’s name.

The token is optional: without it only the browser pixel runs. You can add up to 10 pixels. The token is stored encrypted and can never be shown again; only its last 4 characters are.

Events

Each pixel sends, if you leave them ticked:

  • Page view: every page.
  • Product view: a product page.
  • Add to cart: the product page’s Add to cart and Buy it now.
  • Checkout started: when checkout opens.
  • Purchase: see below.

Values and products come from your catalogue and the cart, never from the browser. Customer details (email, phone, name, city, state, PIN) are hashed with SHA-256 before they leave Koomerce.

When Purchase is sent

Choose on each pixel:

  • When the order is placed (the default): sent at checkout, from the browser and the server.
  • When the order is paid or When the order is delivered: sent from the server only.
  • Prepaid when paid, COD when delivered: for stores with many COD returns.

Meta only accepts server events within 7 days of the order. An order delivered later than that is skipped and shows Older than 7 days in the event log. Test orders (payment test keys) and imported orders are never sent.

Nothing is sent, from the browser or the server, unless the shopper said yes to Marketing in the cookie banner. The marketing line names advertising partners such as Meta. When Pixels was released, every store’s banner was asked again once.

Test your setup

  1. In Events Manager, open Test events and copy the test event code.
  2. Edit the pixel, paste the code and save.
  3. Choose Send test event. It shows in Events Manager within a minute.
  4. Browse your store in another tab and accept marketing cookies: each event should show as Browser and Server, marked Deduplicated.

Remove the test code when you are done, or Meta treats real events as tests.

Event log

Event log lists every event sent or skipped in the last 30 days (successful page views are only counted). Filter by pixel, event and source, and open a row for Meta’s answer, the fbtrace ID and which customer details matched. The log never holds the details themselves.

When a token stops working

If Meta refuses a token (expired, revoked, or the system user lost access), the pixel shows Error, server events stop and the store owner gets one email. Choose Replace token and paste a new one. The browser pixel keeps running meanwhile.
