Domains and security certificates
Your store answers on its own address (for example yourshop.koomerce.app) and, if you like, on
a domain you bought (like yourshop.in). Shoppers see a padlock only when the address has a
security certificate. We get a free one for every address automatically.
Open Settings → Domains to see every address and its status.
What the status means
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | The address works and has its certificate. | Nothing. |
| Issuing SSL | We are getting the certificate. Usually a minute or two. | Wait. The page refreshes by itself. |
| Waiting for DNS | The address does not point at our server yet, so no certificate can be issued. | Add or fix the DNS record at the company where you bought the domain (see the records on the domain’s page). We keep checking on our own. |
| Certificate failed | The address points at us, but the certificate was not issued yet. | Press Retry certificate. We also keep trying on our own for three days. |
The reason is written under the address, for example DNS not pointing here yet or Certificate pending.
Retry certificate
On a domain’s page, Retry certificate starts a fresh attempt straight away. It takes about a minute. You can press it once every two minutes. It is for owners and admins.
You usually do not need it: after you fix DNS we notice within minutes and retry for you, first after a few minutes, then after 15 minutes, an hour, and then every six hours for three days.
If it keeps failing
- Check the DNS records on the domain’s page against what your registrar shows. A typo is the most common cause.
- If you use Cloudflare, turn the orange cloud off (DNS only) while the certificate is issued.
- Changes at some registrars take up to 48 hours to spread. The status updates once they do.
- Still stuck after a day? Contact support with the address.
